Piano Shopping

My mom and I went piano shopping the other day and yesterday it arrived! We chose a piano from the Piano Gallery store in Salt Lake. It was a beautiful brown color. It has a wonderful design on the legs and has a top that lifts up. I am excited to start playing and practicing more. I have been using a keyboard for two years so I am really ready for this. 

Swim Team

I recently joined the Nephi Recreation Swim Team. My second meet was in Delta Utah. The first event we raced in was the front crawl (freestyle). It was not my beat one because I didn't feel warmed up yet, but I still took second place. Next, was the back stroke. This was a close race and I could hear lots of yelling just before I touched the wall. I won!  Finally I did the breast stroke. This is my favorite and my best event. I won first place on that one too. Clearly, I had a good day at my swim meet. 

Sleeping on the trampoline

The third night of summer we slept out on the trampoline. It was the perfect night to spend outside. There was a breeze,but it didn't blow hard and it didn't rain. My mom, Ladd, Jack and I all slept right in the middle of the trampoline. We took turns telling stories and then just as we were about to fall asleep, our dog, Luke, jumped on to join us. He must have felt left out. In the middle of the night my mom woke up to find Jack and Luke having a conversation at our feet. I am not sure Jack ever really went to sleep. But I sure did! I loved every minute of it. 

Summer 2014

Now that school is out I can blog again! So far this summer has been both busy and fun. The first week we spent mostly doing yard work. I am finally old enough to plant flowers by myself. This year we planted more than any other year. I hope our yard brings in lots of bees. Planting flowers is my way of thanking them for all the honey I eat. 

A Fun Track Season

This was my first year trying track and field. I really liked it. It was fun to practice with my friends and learn from the high school track team. My favorite part was always the standing long jump. I think I'll  really practice that for next year. Today we had our end of season party. We had ice cream bars and played dodgeball. I can't wait until next year. 

Splashing Around on a Very Hot Day

After tumbling we thought we were headed home. But on the way my mom stopped at a splash pad. She brought our suits and didn't even tell us! We were so happy. It was a very hot day and the cold water was awesome. I liked putting my foot over the spout to try to stop the water. Ladd liked karate chopping the towers of water. Jack liked coping us. Checking Out New Parks

We decided this summer we would check out the parks in the towns around us. Last week we went to the Spanish Fork park. It was really fun! It had all kinds of fun exploring equipment. Also it had some shade which is unusual for playgrounds. I highly recommend you check out this one. Where
